Portsmouth BookFest runs from 10 February to 3 March 2018, and will be the city’s eighth annual literary festival. The packed programme features workshops, talks and storytelling, and events for all ages.
Many talented writers and researchers involved with Supernatural Cities and Portsmouth DarkFest will be taking part in BookFest events, including Karl Bell, Alison Habens, Eiliís Phillips, Amanda Garrie, Will Sutton, Matt Wingett and Tom Sykes.
Just a few of the highlights include tales of romance, revenge and regret from the Portsmouth Writers’ Hub at the ‘St. Valentine’s Massacre’; a fascinating discussion of shifting historical perspectives on sexuality in ‘The Guide to Victorian Sex’; and the immersive ‘Literary Mystery’ that will unfold inside the University of Portsmouth’s Park Building.
